KOUNTZE, Texas (Oct. 2, 2026) — A Hardin County grand jury has indicted a Kountze-area man in connection with a fatal traffic crash that occurred July 18 south of Kountze.

Authorities said Gary Lee Fall, 72, was indicted on a charge of:

• Criminally Negligent Homicide

The charge stems from a crash that resulted in the death of Keaton Legator, 24, of Village Mills.

Investigators said the collision occurred on U.S. Highway 69 near Overstreet Loop. According to reports, Fall was attempting to maneuver around the scene of an earlier crash when his vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Legator.

Legator was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case will proceed through the Hardin County court system.
